Sprinkler and irrigation repair in Eustis, FL
Heads spraying the street, a zone that won’t shut off, dry patches, a timer still set to last year’s days: found, fixed and reprogrammed for the rules Eustis is under now.
Sprinkler repairs we handle
- HeadsBroken, sunken or tilted spray heads and rotors replaced or raised so they clear the grass and throw where they should.
- NozzlesClogged or mismatched nozzles cleaned or swapped so every head on a zone puts down a similar amount of water.
- ValvesZone valves that stick open, won’t open or weep, repaired or replaced at the valve box.
- LeaksCracked lateral pipe and fittings on the sprinkler side of the system dug up and repaired.
- Controllers and timersTimers reprogrammed, replaced or upgraded, with start times and run lengths set to the current rules.
- Rain sensorsMissing or dead rain shutoff devices replaced. Florida law requires one on every automatic system.
Setting your sprinkler timer to the Eustis watering days
A controller set before the current order is probably running on the wrong days. Under the Phase III water shortage order (Order 2026-017) from the St. Johns River Water Management District, residential watering days are odd-numbered addresses on Saturday, even-numbered addresses on Sunday. No irrigation between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and no more than ¾ inch of water and no more than one hour per zone.
We set start times for the early morning, which UF/IFAS names as the best time to irrigate, and size each zone’s run so it puts down roughly ½ to ¾ inch without going past the one-hour cap. The order covers private wells and pumps as well as city water; only properties irrigating solely with reclaimed water are outside it. The watering schedule page has the details and sources.
Do landscapers fix sprinkler systems?
Some do and some don’t. We do, because a sprinkler system and the lawn it waters fail together: a sunken head behind a hedge, a nozzle choked by St. Augustine runners, or a zone that floods one bed and leaves the next one dry all show up first as brown turf or a struggling shrub. When we already mow or landscape your Eustis yard, those problems are easier to catch, and the repair goes on the same invoice.
Adding a zone or installing a new sprinkler system
New beds, a freshly sodded area or a yard that never had irrigation can get new zones or a full system. Lawn and beds are put on separate zones: spray heads or rotors on the turf, and drip or micro-irrigation in planting beds, which puts water at the roots instead of on the leaves.
Eustis sand drains fast, so spacing matters. Heads are set for head-to-head coverage, each one throwing to the next, so no strip of lawn is left relying on the weak edge of a spray.
Where our irrigation work stops
We work on the sprinkler side of the system: on city water, everything past the backflow preventer, from the valves out to the heads. We don’t install or test backflow preventers, and we don’t make connections to the drinking-water supply; those belong to a licensed plumber. Well pumps go to a pump contractor.
What irrigation repair costs
A repair can’t be priced from an aerial photo; a broken valve and a cracked pipe look the same from above. So repairs start with finding the fault, and you get the price for the fix before any parts go in. New zones and full systems are different: they are laid out from your lot’s measurements, taken from parcel records and aerial imagery, and quoted as one fixed price.

More yard work in Eustis
Lawn mowing
A fixed weekday, the right cut height, crisp edges and a clean driveway. Weekly through the warm months, every second week in winter.
Landscaping
New planting beds, shrubs, rock and stone, clean borders and low-voltage lighting for Eustis homes, planned around one watering day a week and the shade your trees really cast.
Sod installation
Dead or patchy turf cut out, the ground graded, and new St. Augustine, Bahia or Zoysia laid with tight seams, then watered in on the extra days Eustis allows for new grass.
Lawn aeration
Hollow tines pull small plugs of soil from compacted turf so water, air and roots can get back down. Worth it where a Eustis lawn takes traffic, and timed for when the grass can recover.
Lawn fertilization
St. Augustine and Bahia fed when they can use it, with slow-release nitrogen, measured rates and a blower in hand so nothing ends up on the pavement or in the lakes.
Yard cleanup
Turning an overgrown Eustis yard back into a lawn: tall grass brought down safely, beds weeded, edges recovered and the debris taken away.
Hedge trimming
Privacy hedges shaped so they stay thick to the ground, foundation shrubs pulled back off the house, and flowering plants cut at the right time of year.
Mulch
Weeds out and bed lines cut before anything is spread, then a proper layer of mulch that stays clear of tree trunks and the foundation.
Leaf cleanup
Eustis oaks shed in late winter and spring, just as lawns start growing again. We clear the turf, beds and paving and take the leaves away.
Palm trimming
Brown fronds, seed stalks and loose boots taken off. The green crown stays, because it is how the palm feeds itself.
HOA & commercial
Association common areas, community entrances, pond banks, offices and storefronts, maintained to a written scope for one set monthly price.
